Sexological Bodywork

Does your idea of life include a fulfilled sexuality?

Do you regard sexuality as a field of exploration, with endless possibilities for learning and development?

Would you like to accompany others in developing their own sexuality?

Learn more about a new profession and an exciting field of activity!

What is Sexological Bodywork?

Sexological Bodywork is a vivid, creative and very effective way of somatic learning that connects body-focused sex coaching with awareness-oriented somatic bodywork.

This new body-focused approach intends to open spaces for exploration in which people can learn more about their sexuality, their intimate relations and their individual eroticism.

Using different methods including touch, breath work, movement and communication, Sexological Bodywork supports individuals, couples and groups towards greater embodiment and a more authentic expression of their sexuality.

We focus on:

•   Deepening the capacity to perceive body sensations and living a body-connected sexuality (erotic embodiment),

•   Establishing deeper intimacy in sexual encounters, and living them more authentically (erotic self-validation)

•   Living and regulating sexual experiences more consciously (sexual empowerment)

Sexological Bodyworkers accompany people in learning to perceive their physical sensations more consciously. They also help in exploring new possibilities to integrate sexual freedom and intimacy into our lives.

•   Certification training Sexological Bodywork IISB®

Sexological Bodywork is a profession certified by the State of California. It is taught a the Institute fort he Advanced Study of Human Sexuality in San Francisco, the International Institute for Sexological Bodywork IISB® in Zurich, Switzerland (since 2009), as well as in Spain and Germany.

This training in somatic bodywork offers direct experience- and process-oriented ways of learning with a focus on erotic embodiment. Students will practice the methods and techniques of Sexological Bodywork on their own bodies and those of others.

The training will also address how participants can use the knowledge and experience gained as part of the course to give individual sessions or lead group workshops.

The training is conceived for people with a general interest in sexual learning themes, including those already working in the areas of body and sexuality (like masseurs, sex educators/therapists and related professions).

The training in Sexological Bodywork IISB® is experience-based. We understand that it is our own experiences that best prepare us to accompany others towards their erotic embodiment. The methodology used in the training is based on a number of body-focused therapy approaches that have gained increasing societal recognition over recent decades.  .

With the training, we want to open up safe spaces for experimentation, for sexual learning and states of arousal. Spaces which also allow us to free ourselves of unfinished emotional business, dogmatic beliefs or other cultural or social caveats.

Sexological Bodywork puts the individual first, irrespective of gender, without any judgements about sexual identity or orientation.

We believe that sexual health and erotic education are basic human rights. Our work is based on clearly defined ethical principles.

Methods of Sexological Bodywork:

·   An attitude of presence/mindfulness: The foundation of our work is to train the attitude of being fully present in the own sexual and intimate experience. It is important to be aware when you disconnect from your erotic experience and to create personal resources to reconnect to and deepen the body sensations and the erotic encounter – with oneself and the other. In this way, one can learn to access consciously states of erotic trance.

·   Breath work: Being conscious of breathing is a key element for being present and enjoying one's sexuality. In the training different breathing techniques and their potential for regulating the erotic experience are taught.

·   Identifying needs, desires and personal limits: Another essential element for being present in the intimate encounter. We invite and remind our participants during the whole training to cultivate their awareness and expression of their own limits.

·   Conscious touch and mapping techniques: techniques that help you get more familiar with your own body and its erotic potential (e.g. body mapping, vaginal mapping).

·   Whole body massage: bodywork that uses different touch qualities to connect with the person's energy and explore personal issues on a body level.

·   Taoist erotic massage: intimate massage where the receiver has an active role in order to get deeper into the erotic experience, using breathing, voice, movement and focused attention.

·   Genital meditation: a meditative space  that includes non-intentional genital touch. It aims at improving our capacity to experience a meditative presence that is not geared towards achieving orgasm.

·   Scar tissue remediation: massage techniques that help bring back the sensitivity to scar tissues on the body or the genital area.

·   Orgasmic yoga: a number of self-love practices that train erotic mindfulness and the capacity to be
present in one's body sensations, including sexual arousal.

·   Masturbation coaching: an approach based on Authentic Movement that helps get rid of limiting habits and deepen the erotic experience

·   Core erotic theme: a path for exploring individual arousal patterns that brings more awareness about one's eroticism and facilitates transformation processes.
